Blackberries Bliss Jam

$10.00

Creation for these flavors have to come from my mother-in-law’s blackberry pie recipe. Every summer of my wife’s childhood was spent picking juicy blackberries on the back roads of Humboldt County and making homemade pies with her mom. She has fond memories of flour everywhere and her mom be amazed that her 12-year-old daughter makes better pie crusts then hers.

These blackberries come from our Challenge, CA property where the hot summers make these tiny little berries sweet and plentiful. We make a tarter jam and let the berries shine with minimal sugar, Meyer lemon juice and zest, vanilla bean and just a pinch of cinnamon to warm the whole recipe up. This jam is a memory unlocked of stained purple fingers dripping with juice, and basically childhood in a jar! We’ve been swirling it in our cold muesli, dolloping into our Greek yogurt, smeared on a bagel with cream cheese, and licking every bit off that spoon before we put it in the sink to wash. Like the berries of summer, these jars won’t last long, so grab one or two while you can!
